Introducing your baby to solid foods is an exciting journey into a world of flavours and textures.

If you are looking for more information, here are a few of my favourite resources to help guide you along the way.

Introducing Solid Foods (breast-assured)

Getting Started With Solids (breast-assured)

First 1000 Days This campaign promotes good nutrition in the first 1000 days of life, from pregnancy to the first birthday to support baby’s growth and development. You can order a copy of their recipe book also which has lovely meal ideas for all stages of introducing solid foods.

The First Steps Nutrition Trust This charity provides information on eating well for infants and mums. Their Eating Well: The First Year is a comprehensive guide to introducing solids and has thorough information on preparing food of all textures for your little one. Well worth a read!

The HSE website has good tips on introducing solids too.

My Child 0-2 years, a book produced by the HSE is free to download and has a section on introducing solids.
